Hey what's up Dave, how's everything? Was just emailing you to let you know I'm heading to Europe with the Sounds. We leave may 4th. It's only for a week, but i'm still pretty excited. Never thought my drumming would allow me to literally see different cultures around the world! But anyway, just keeping you updated with my "going's on" ...talk with you soon

hey dave, this is patrick martens III here just writing to say hey and let you know that i'm still alive and kicking. i'm not quite sure if this is definately your email address or not but i thought i'd give it a try and see. everything down here is going really well for me so far and i think about the time that you told me to try going down here in the first place and who knows it just might open up other doors unimaginable and it did. the band is doing great. we're in the studio finishing up our full length album that should come out mid-summer. we just won a contest to open for bon jovi in NYC at giants stadium on July 19th, our song was number one on the top 40 radio station down here, we've received a few label offers, and better yet the guys in the band are great guys to be around. it seems too good to be true right now, which is what scares me, but all of the things that are happening this time are legit and i know they're true. i'm still uncertain of where i'll be 5 years from now, but that's the way that i like it. i'm still taking a huge risk....but i might regret it later if i hadn't. sorry if i rambled off a bunch of information to you but i still look up to you a lot and thought you'd like to know what's been going on. i hope you are enjoying your vacation time there in the twin cities. hopefully your new baby event went well and you're enjoying yourself. i'll talk to you later dave. hope all is well and take care. your friend and life long student, patrick martens
